Fashion Week: Milan focuses on the youth. Los Angeles steals New York limelight

Last September, the last day of the shows had left more than one designer in a bad mood. Giorgio Armani, who was believed to have the last slot of the Milan Fashion Week, had obtained a change of date. His absence, however, contributed to having some industry professionals leaving early. Today the gap is restored, because Armani for Men’s Fashion Week, organised by the National Fashion Committee January 14 to 17, reappears at the end of the 4-day event. Along with a cluster of emerging talent in the fashion industry, they return to parade in Milan, Zegna, Moschino and Marras, Philipp Plein, Versace and Prada. Kering Group brands, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, unified men and women shows in February. Vivienne Westwood will not be present, while others (such as Ermanno Scervino) have showroom presentations to the catwalk. Fashion Week in New York, which last year was making headlines with the ‘see now-buy now’ concept risks being overtaken by Los Angeles. After Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Zoe and Tom Ford, also Rebecca Minkoff announced the move to Los Angeles.
