Bata makes a U-turn in Switzerland and heads to Europe

In 2016 Bata, whose headquarter in Switzerland was in Lausanne, closed 29 stores in the Swiss Confederation. In a recent interview with Swiss head Matin Dimanche, Group CEO Alexis Nasard said that he would open other stores with the year. Switzerland is part of a project to strengthen the market in Europe, which “weighs 25% of our turnover. It is a stable market and represents a priority for us.” Nasard also manifested his intentions of investing in Italy.  “We are also investing in our design centre near Venice (Limena-Padova) to support innovation.” he declared “88% of sales still come from the store. For now, customers are looking for the web mainly for inspiration.” he concluded. In recent days, Bata has organised in Prague the Bata Fashion Weekend during which she presented, Insolia, which is painted as “the most comfortable heel shoe ever”.
