Dior’s new Spring 2017 sneakers are hand-painted in Naples

It takes four days of intense labour To create just one pair of them. They are made of 34 pieces of calf skin that – once assembled – are hand-painted by an artisan. The final result is a pair of sneakers that recalls the traditional ‘Prince of Wales’ motif on the upper which is “stained” by yellow, blue, white, red and black paint. It was designed by Belgian designer Kris Van Assche ( Dior’s men creative director) for Dior. The shoes called ‘Special Darklight’ will be sold from Spring 2017 at a retail price of 960 Euros.
