Digital growth is unstoppable: YNAP gains + 17% and Zalando sets at +22%

YNAP, the luxury portal Yoox-Net-a-Porter (Ynap), has closed the first nine months of the year with revenues up by + 17% to 1.33 billion (+ 16% at constant rates). The monthly average of unique visitors was 27.5 million, and has increased if compared to 25.93 million registered in the first nine months of 2015; 5.9 million orders against 5.0; 331 euro of 2015 against the average value of the orders of 354 Euros in the nine months of 2016 and 2.8 million active customers compared to 2.3 million. “As a demonstration of its strength, Yoox Net-A-Porter has registered a strong organic growth despite the challenging economic and political environment” commented CEO Federico Marchetti (pictured). For 2016 the company expects to achieve further revenue growth and margin improvement. Zalando has also outdone expectations in the first nine months of 2016: revenues were of 2.547 billion euros, up by 21.9% over the same period last year. The German website confirms the project to grow by 20-25% in the coming years by continuing to invest “in terms of customer proposition,with regard to the mobile offering, into the strength of the brand, and in the assortment and convenience to the customer”. In the first nine months of 2016, Zalando has also significantly increased the number of its employees: from 10,000 on 31 December 2015 to 11,200 of September 30, 2016.
