Prada appoints Pieter Mulier as Versace’s new Creative Director

Pieter Mulier has been appointed the new Creative Director of Versace. The Prada Group and Versace announced his appointment on Thursday in a statement. Mulier will take on the role of Chief Creative Officer from 1 July 2026. Following months of rumours, the Belgian designer succeeds Dario Vitale, who left the Medusa brand in December after just nine months (he was also behind Versace’s most recent campaign, which was widely praised on social media). The appointment marks the beginning of a new phase for the brand, which is betting on a strong, contemporary creative vision. Over the course of his career, Mulier has contributed to the success of fashion houses such as Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Dior, Calvin Klein and, more recently, Alaïa, where he currently serves as Creative Director.

A new chapter

Mulier will report directly to Lorenzo Bertelli, Executive Chairman of Versace. “During the process of acquiring Versace, we identified Pieter Mulier as the ideal figure to lead the brand”, Bertelli stated. “We are confident that he will be able to unlock the maison’s full potential and establish an authentic dialogue with its history and distinctive aesthetic”. With this appointment, Versace is preparing to embark on a new chapter, both strategically and stylistically.
