Moreschi restarts with small batches from two suppliers in Vigevano

The revival of Moreschi will be a gradual process. The brand is restarting with small production batches from two footwear manufacturers based in Vigevano, along with a new warehouse for storage and logistics in the same Lombard town. Should the market respond positively, this will pave the way for the reopening of in-house production. This was explained by Andrea Usuelli — partner of Riccardo Libertino in Superglamorous — during an online meeting with trade union representatives on 19 June. Superglamorous, together with the London-based Imerman Family Office, acquired Moreschi for EUR 1.7 million.

The first investment — the logistics and storage warehouse — is already in place. One former Moreschi employee will be employed there. As previously announced to La Conceria, plans are also underway to reopen the brand’s boutique on Via Manzoni in Milan. As for industrial investment, this will depend on encouraging sales results. As reported by L’Informatore Vigevanese, Superglamorous, which has operated in distribution (not footwear manufacturing) since 2012, must prepare carefully before taking the next step. Moreover, according to Il Giorno, any return to manufacturing cannot take place at the original Via Cararola factory, as this was sold off by the previous owners. Instead, it would have to be housed in a new facility.
