Lineapelle 97 looking to the future: Innovation Square is back in Milan

Seconda edzione per Lineapelle Innovation Square

Looking beyond. Aiming the sight towards new horizons. The future is a norm at Lineapelle. The 97th edition that will take place at Fieramilano Rho from October 2nd to the 4th will prove this more than ever before. The future is called “circularity”, as shown by the launch at the fair of the The Leather (re)Cyclying Exhibition. The future is (almost) called “Innoation”. This is a fundamental theme, as proven by the comeback of Lineapelle Innovation Square at this edition.

The project

Innovation Square is the inspirational and future-focused center that was launched by Lineapelle a year ago. “Our goal is not just to showcase what happens in the world to our marketplace – states Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle -, but to anticipate the changes that will take place and create a web of connections, along with an operating system, capable of securing our leadership in the medium and long term”.

The program

More than 30 speakers are involved in the project, along with Research and Development institutes and companies with a very innovative profile. It is their job to build a “concretely stimulating” path, organized in 6 main themes: New Aesthetics: how to develop the aspect of products via technology and future techniques; Nanotechnology: innovative additional functionalities of materials and products; Biotech: chemicals and bio-generated materials; Customisation: Technologies to personalize products; Wearable Devices and product intelligence; Circularity: materials and innovative business models to achieve circularity. Lineapelle Innovation Square will close shop on Friday, October 4th, with a special panel titled “What’s Next?”, which will be moderated by the project’s curator, Federico Brugnoli.

Present at the Event

Participating at the 2019 Lineapelle Innovation Square will be, among others, representatives from: MIT, Tufts University di Boston (USA), Fashion Institute of Technology (USA), Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, IIT (IT), Cambridge University (UK), Politecnico di Milano (IT), AFFOA (USA), Rutgers School of Engineering (USA), INESCOP (Spain), CeNTI (Portugal).
