Hermès to expand leather goods plant in Saint Junien while setting 100 new jobs

Hermès keep investing in Saint Junien. After inaugurating, two years ago, their manufacturing plant based in the Haute-Vienne small town, the fashion house is supposedly planning to expand the factory area, while hiring, at the same time, some more staff. At present, about 130 people work in the leather goods plant; yet, according to local press, by the end of 2022 the fashion house is going to expand towards another building, therefore taking on about one hundred more employees. Pierre Allard, mayor of the city, made public the news: in his opinion, the company will actually employ their new staff after an internal training period, developed in collaboration with Pôle Emploi recruitment agency. Allard, who is also the vice-president of the confederation of municipalities of Porte Océane du Limousin, also assumes that Hermès will supposedly buy out, by the end of September, a building opposite their leather goods factory, currently run by the organization mentioned above. In Saint Junien, the brand currently manufactures their own leather gloves by taking advantage of a long-standing know how honed, over the past decades, by local artisans. For the records, they already supplied the company even before Hermès takeover.
