Mabi International, the Chanel-owned leather goods company based in San Daniele del Friuli (Udine), had a record-breaking 2025. Revenue rose sharply last year, up 20.1%, while profitability grew at a similar pace and bank debt remained almost nonexistent. Founded in 1979 by Mario Biasutti, the company initially produced for its own brand, Andrea Mabiani, before gradually shifting toward manufacturing for luxury labels.
Chanel leather goods’ record-breaking 2025
Mabi International produces more than 120,000 bags a year, along with 300,000 small leather goods items. Its performance rests on a combination of advanced production facilities and the expertise of its 300 employees, factors that helped deliver its record-breaking 2025. According to figures reported by NordEst, the Friuli-based leather goods company recorded a 20.1% increase in revenue, which rose to €213.3 million. That marks a +155% increase since 2020, when it closed the year with revenue of €83.5 million. Production value also rose last year, reaching €223 million from €179.6 million the previous year. Net profit came in at €51.9 million, up 21% on 2024. Liquidity decreased from €14.4 million to €10.6 million, while bank debt stood at just €14,000.
The maison’s entry
Mabi International’s structure and organization caught the attention of one of its customers, Chanel, which acquired a 40% stake in the company in 2019. It then completed the acquisition in October 2023 by buying the remaining 60%, with founder Biasutti exiting the business. Alongside its strong 2025 results, Mabi International also completed a transaction on June 26, 2025, through which it incorporated its three subsidiaries: Mabipell in Albignasego (Padua), Mabifir in Scandicci (Florence) and Blupell in San Daniele del Friuli.
