As Aeffe relaunches, it could lose Appiolaza. The group that controls brands such as Moschino, Alberta Ferretti and Pollini is at a crucial stage. On the one hand, there is the complex financial restructuring, with the ministerial meeting postponed until after 20 June and the request for €20 million in financing expected on the 17th. On the other, there is a possible creative change of direction at Moschino, where, according to Puck and BoringNotCom, Adrian Appiolaza has left the creative direction. In his place, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, founders of Sunnei, are reportedly set to arrive, with a contract expected to be finalized imminently.
The financial front
As The Platform writes, the postponement of the meeting with the MIMIT signals the need to clarify the outlines of the group’s relaunch operation. On the table remains the non-binding offer from Oxy Capital, a fund specialized in recovering companies in difficulty, which has already played a key role in rescuing Stefanel. The appointment of Riccardo Bagolin as general manager from 3 June, a manager experienced in restructuring, has been interpreted as a sign of the intention to relaunch the group and of a possible change of ownership by the end of the year. The €20 million financing, meanwhile, represents the decisive piece needed to ensure continuity and solidity for the group, in a market context that requires vision and discipline.
Aeffe could lose Appiolaza
On the creative side, however, Moschino could soon turn the page. According to Puck and BoringNotCom, Adrian Appiolaza has already left the creative direction of the brand. Appiolaza had managed to restore to Moschino an ironic dimension that was also full of meaning, without losing an approach rooted in tailoring. In his place, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, the founding duo of the Sunnei brand, now in liquidation, are reportedly set to join. Rizzo and Messina would bring to Moschino their conceptual vision, based on an all-encompassing idea of style. A choice that would also reflect Aeffe’s desire to renew the brand’s language, maintaining its theatricality but with a more contemporary register.
