Bottega Veneta invests in its chain. The Kering-owned brand announced the enlargement plan for Manifattura Veneta Pellettiere spaces, company that has been manufacturing the leather goods for the fashion brand since 2011 and that currently has two production sites near Vicenza, one in Altavilla Vicentina and one in Malo. A third site will now be added in Povolaro di Dueville, a small town half-way between the two existing plants. The new location will cover circa 6,000 square meters and will be developed on two floors, built following modern industrial manufacturing principles. About 200 new employs will join Manifattura Veneta Pelletterie to operate the factory before 2020, once the construction process that began in February will be completed.
“Manifattura Venete Pelletterie will hire 100 new people, all having professionality and diversified experience levels, that will be trained internally via Bottega Veneta’s Scuola dei Maestri Pellettieri. The school is dedicated to transmitting the know-how practices for artisanal excellence that characterizes the brand – communicated Bottega Veneta in a note -. This is an important step forward for our process to make production an internal matter for Bottega Veneta. The goal is to maintain the excellence standards during the manufacturing of the goods and, at the same time, to guarantee flexibility and know-how processes that only qualified and internally trained workers can produce, all to keep up with new creative demands”. Manifattura Venete Pelletterie contributes through two sites that have a consolidated side supply-chain, making over 50% of Bottega Veneta’s leather goods. The organic is made of 300 artisans specialized in different phases of handbags’ production, as well as footwear, belts, small leather goods – from the cutting and quality control processes, to the assembly process -. Additionally, the new business supports third-party manufacturing and prototype creators from Atelier di Montebello Vicentino. Manifattura Venete Pelletterie also has another 380 employs specialized in the treatment processes for leather, located in circa 20 artisanal laboratories spread over the Veneto region.
