“I hope you won’t just remember me for my shoes…” Theresa May, the new British prime minister once said

“Everyone knows that I love shoes and newspapers seem to categorize me on the basis of the shoes I’m wearing.” This quotation from a few years ago is from Theresa May, the new British prime minister since 13 July, succeeding David Cameron, who resigned due to Brexit. She has already been called the “Thatcher of the third millennium” and the “British Merkel”, while her denigrators like to annoy her by saying that she will only be remembered for her fancy shoes. Mrs. May likes to wear unusual, quirky shoes: high heels, striped court shoes, exotic leopard-skin and often bright red. She used to wear very high heels, but with age she has moved onto medium heels.
