Two cases of decline in financial statements (but limited to the -0.1 and -1% range): perfect stability. And then four showing growth, even in double digits. Pambianco Magazine’s overview of the financial statements of Italy’s leading design groups paints a picture of a sector that continues to expand. And one that, despite a highly challenging international market environment, knows its margins and its horizons.
One competitive lever is M&A: “We are working to create a furniture hub”, comments Emanuel Colombini, chairman of Colombini Group, “there could be further acquisitions in 2026”. But sector players are aware that dimensional expansion must not become a boomerang. “I think our right size is around half a billion in revenues”, concludes Marco Spinelli, CEO of Poliform.
Italy’s leading design groups
As mentioned, Pambianco Magazine reviewed the 2025 financial statements of the 10 largest Italian furniture groups. Net of Poltronesofà Holding (which posted revenues of 896 million euro in 2024, but whose 2025 results aren’t yet known), Veneta Cucine and Lube Holding (which don’t operate in upholstered furniture), the trend appears generally positive. Haworth Lifestyle, which controls Poltrona Frau and Cassina among others, recorded +4% with 773 million.
Molteni Group (562 million) reached +8%, while Poliform (350 million) performed even better with +14%. Wedo Holding (274 million) is also in positive territory with +1%. Colombini Group closed flat: it posted revenues of 290 million in 2024 and the same amount in 2025. As for conglomerates, Flos B&B Italia Group declined by 0.1% (-0.1%), while Dexelance (320 million) lost 1%.
