Moncler doesn’t give in to hackers: suppliers’ data online as well

Moncler doesn’t give in to hackers. That’s because providing hackers, that attacked the brand’s system in December with “ransomware”, with what they wanted, “goes against the founding values” of the group. Data stolen by the hackers is now on the dark web, as confirmed by Moncler. The information includes “employee and ex-employee data, some suppliers, consultants, commercial partners and clients registered in the brand’s database.

Moncler doesn’t give in

Moncler explains that “the investigation” on the December attack “are still ongoing” and that “all relevant authorities and privacy institutions” have been alerted. Meanwhile, the group “activated an expert cybersecurity team to face the attack”, as well as “having further strengthened the system’s security”. The group has apologized for the incident and “for any unrest and concern it may have created to all stakeholders”.

Clients shouldn’t worry

The idea that private data is available on the dark web is unsettling to everybody, but Moncler has ensured that “no data tied to credit cards or other forms of payment was stolen by hackers – closes the note -, as that type of data isn’t stored on the brand’s systems”.
