New factory for OrthoLite: its second in Vietnam

OrthoLite opened a new manufacturing facility in Vietnam. This new factory is the second owned by the premium insole producer in the Southeast Asian country. In doing so, the company “is able to offer more efficient and faster service to local sneaker manufacturers”.

OrthoLite has opened a new production site in Northern Vietnam, located in the Bao Minh Industrial Park in Ninh Binh province. The investment aims to localise the entire manufacturing process and strengthen the company’s production capabilities. The new factory also reflects OrthoLite’s commitment to Northern Vietnam, forming part of a strategy of vertical integration within a wholly owned facility managed directly by the company.

Strategy of vertical integration

“The northern region of Vietnam forms part of OrthoLite’s global manufacturing strategy to align its production sites and provide efficient, direct service to our local partners and tier-one factories”, said country manager Michael Hsu (source: Footwear News). The leading open-cell foam technology company already operates a plant in Ho Chi Minh City, where more than 1,000 people are employed. OrthoLite was recently acquired by the Coats Group for 770 million dollars.
