At Expo Riva Schuh demand for leather grows in the mid-end, despite “fierce” price competition

Good flow of visitors, growing curiosity about leather and fierce competition. Such elements have clearly come out during the first two days of the 89th edition of Expo Riva Schuh, the international mid-end footwear fair, which comes today to an end, in Riva del Garda (Italy). Both Remigio Iachini, from La Repo shoe factory, located in Porto Sant’Elpidio (Fermo), and Paolo Tessarin, the president of UBC (Quinto Vicentino, Vicenza), are happy about the exhibition. Likewise, foreign exhibitors praise the event. Says Mahmood Qadir, from Pakistani Beck: “On the first two days flow of visitors has been good, especially today (that is yesterday, editor’s note), which is Sunday -points out the Asian entrepreneur – Russian buyers have been increasing”. For the records, many have noticed that. Some visitors focused their attention on stands located in hall C4, for Chinese exhibitors, where fierce price competition is shown off through a “Top cheap” signpost proudly held by an “inside bouncer” manning a stand. Attention to price is still very lively, although at UBC and Beck stands, as well as at Brazilian Usaflex’s (which focuses on summer collections, editor’s note) they point out: “Leather is remarkably growing in our segment”.
