Not every company can celebrate 160 years in business. On Sunday 7 September, the Finco family proudly marked this milestone for Conceria Finco 1865 with a celebration in the gardens of Villa Ca’ Rezzonico, in Bassano del Grappa. Yet the focus was not only on the past, but also firmly on the future. “We are well aware that businesses must be rooted in their local area and community fabric, while remaining future-focused”, said Rocco Finco, manager at the Bassano-based tannery. “They must always be drivers of innovation and of a forward-looking vision of wellbeing and progress for society. Looking ahead to the next 160 years, our aim is to remain interpreters of this role and to provide all stakeholders with a framework for understanding it”.
A legacy of craft
The company’s history runs even deeper. Records show that the founder, Bernardo Finco, was already practising the trade at an artisanal level before registering with the royal business register in 1865. “Such longevity is a source of honour and satisfaction for our family”, continued Rocco, who works in the business alongside his father Bernardo, his sister Francesca and his cousin Filippo. That endurance carries particular weight given the challenges of recent years. “The world has changed in the last decade”, he concluded. “We are proud of what we have achieved — from community engagement to certifications — and equally proud of the projects and investments that secure our future. We respect tradition, but our outlook remains firmly modern”.
