The objective was to present the Italian leather supply chain and tell its story through a shared perspective encompassing both tanning and technology. It was also an opportunity to outline the Conexiones de Futuro between these two sectors and their ability to become essential drivers in defining excellence in fashion and luxury. To achieve these goals, yesterday in Madrid, UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Assomac brought the Italian Consulate General to life. The result was outstanding: an event that was genuinely oversubscribed, reflecting an exceptionally high and highly tangible level of interest, as demonstrated by the photo gallery below.

UNIC and Assomac in Madrid
Around 180 supply chain stakeholders — particularly representatives of brands specialising in leather goods and footwear — had registered for the event promoted by ITA – Italian Trade Agency. More than 200 ultimately attended, demonstrating that discussions around quality and innovation represent a significant driving force in promoting the Italian leather supply chain. The programme featured contributions from Fulvia Bacchi (General Manager of UNIC), Agostino Apolito (Director of Assomac) and Orietta Pelizzari (International Fashion Advisor). Together, after outlining the strengths and distinguishing characteristics of the industrial sectors they represent, they also highlighted their respective reference trade fairs: Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech, whose next editions will take place simultaneously from 15 to 17 September at Fiera Milano Rho.
