Tanning drums and re-tanning drums. Splitting machines and the infrared leather drying tunnel. And also the desalting unit and the laboratory drum. The machinery and equipment of Wollsdorf Leather — the Austrian tannery belonging to the Wollsdorf International group, which ceased operations last winter — will go up for auction on 28 May. On 30 April, the company had already auctioned off its office furnishings and equipment.
Wollsdorf Leather machinery up for auction
The closure of Wollsdorf came almost like a bolt from the blue. Only a few months passed between the announcement of mass redundancies in November 2025 and the cessation of operations in January 2026. The time has now come to clear out the site (pictured). The machinery auction is being handled by Dome-Auctions, the Dutch firm specialising in industrial auctions. Bidding closes at 2pm on 28 May.
