London Fashion Week Men recap. An explosion of colour, daring material matches, and a lot of leather and fur

The typical eclectic London-style played the main role in London Fashion Week Men which closed on Monday 9 January.  It presented a colourful men’s fashion for next winter 2017 / 2018. Despite this being an event mainly dedicated to men fashion, different “unified collections” featuring Women and Men’s styles were showcased.  Seasonal shades were routed while materials were matched in bold combinations. Leather was used both in clothing, in shoes and accessories. In addition to Matthew Miller, who centred his collection on the classic aviator and biker styles, many other designers have used various kind of leathers in an innovative way: Xander Zhou, Agi & Sam and Ximon Lee. This season also marked the return of the overlapping of fabric and leather, as well as the use of shearling. As for what concern footwear, the matching of socks and high heels, sneakers with fur uppers, and suede boots with frills were the big stars of catwalks. Bright colours became acceptable also for the colder season, as well as fluo furs and shiny suede leathers. Platforms, sandals, and moccasins with fur were reconfirmed as the must have for next winter. Textures, prints and embroideries also remained a significant trend both on the runways and among street style icons.
