Raw material, US slaughterings go up between end September and early October

In the last week of September over 640,000 livestock units were slaughtered in the USA. Such peak number of slaughterings slightly decreased in the first week of October, still they increased (632,000 units), compared to 2016 same period. Such is the trend of US breeding livestock industry according to data provided by USDA, the US Department of Agriculture, and Jacobsen index. Quoting the Sauer Report, in the last week of September among bovines top growth was for heifer (+4%), following the previous lively term (+8% in the 4 previous weeks). Steers go steady, +2%, whereas cows show a negative trend.
