La Moda Italiana in Kiev postponed to the end of the month, Frankfurt goes to 2022

New postponement for La Moda Italiana in Kiev. Originally scheduled for April 12 and 13, the event was initially postponed to May 6 and 7. But the dates have changed again. It will be staged on May 24 and 25. The debut of the Fashion Week in Frankfurt has been postponed from July 2021 to January 2022. Premium, Seek, Neonyt and The Ground fairs and the various fashion shows scheduled from July 5 to 9, in fact, will be on January 19-21, 2022, due to the pandemic situation. The consequence: the event will take place only digitally on the website frankfurt.fashion.de.

La Moda Italiana in Kiev postponed to the end of the month

The cause is “the extension of the restrictive measures, recently approved by the Ukrainian authorities”. Measures that “prohibit the holding of business events even within hotels for the next few weeks”. Thus, writes online Assocalzaturifici (association belonging to Confindustria Moda), “it was necessary to further postpone La Moda Italiana in Kiev”. The Ukrainian initiative also involves EMI – Ente Moda Italia, AIP and Assopellettieri, and should take place (at Hotel Intercontinental in Kiev again) on May, Monday 24 and Tuesday 25.

The organisers of the German Fashion Week, namely Messe Frankfurt and Premium Group, are also dealing with the pandemic situation. Transferred from Berlin to Frankfurt, the fashion week is also postponed because, according to the organisers, “compliance with the program would have transferred the financial risk onto the shoulders of the fair’s partners: exhibitors, visitors and sponsors”. “It breaks my heart to cancel fairs, conferences and events for the third consecutive time, as well as the presentations and fashion shows of the collections – says Anita Tillmann, CEO of Premium Group to Fashion United -. Let’s not fool ourselves: it’s dramatic for the fashion industry”.
