Lineapelle95 gets connected to the future. Innovation Square presents today the frontiers of biomimetics

They are going to show items that can produce electricity by copying the properties of eels. They will modify materials by using graphene. They will introduce nanotechnologies in the leather processing. Such are some of the tips that will be given today at Lineapelle Innovation Square, during a workshop session to look into potential connections between nature, materials and fashion. Focus on biomimetics, a subject based on the close study of biological, biomechanical processes and materials of nature, to be subsequently employed, as an ideal source of inspiration, to improve technologies and human activities. Several speakers will give a speech today at Lineapelle95 innovative space: Michael Mayer, Veronika Kapsali, Jonathan Boryeko, Maurizio Montalti, Marco Dal Lago, Francisca Aran Ais, Carla Silva, Tiziana Sarto. In the afternoon, they will spotlight other issues, such as sustainability and circular economy in the fashion industry, thanks to the participation of Vikrant Pratap, Stefano Sommariva, Anna Pellizzari, Thomas Beck, Maria José Ferreira and Enrico Purgato, who are going to suggest a few insights about responsibility alongside the optimization of resources in the working processes, possibly supported by digital tools. Meanwhile, yesterday the inauguration of Innovation Square was a “great success”, remarked Federico Brugnoli, supervisor of the project. “Many people visited our spaces, talking to exhibitors on the ground floor and attending conferences on the first floor, interacting with the speakers. I think that we are actually achieving our goal, that is, to make known some potential connections generally overlooked”. “We met many people, whose curiosity was aroused by our suggestions and, as well, by debates held on the upper floor – pointed out Paolo Cassis, co-founder of Caracol Design Studio, one of the exhibitors at Lineapelle Innovation Square -. Personally, I also managed to open some interesting discussions”.
