The debut will be on January 19th, 2021, but only in digital form. Micam Americas, an event created thanks to the collaboration between Micam and US-based Magic, is organized by Informa Markets Fashion, which utilized NuOrder’s competence, a digital business that also signed an agreement with the Milan-based footwear fair.
Micam Americas Digital will be online from January 19th to March 16th, 2021 and will present a diversified selection of footwear for men, women and children. But the fair will also offer sessions to deepen the knowledge of fashion trends, as well as trainings and networking options. About 60 companies of the footwear segment plan on participating, beside from the clothing brand that distribute shoes under their own name.
Italian export towards the USA
In the first 9 months of 2020 (given the more recent data available to Assocalzaturifici) the export of footwear by Italy toward the USA was of 7.3 million pairs (down 35.1% compared to the same period of 2019), for a revenue of 529.56 million euro (-29.6%). The average price was of 72.75 euro per pair, up 8.4%. More than 6 pairs out of 10 were for women, and Tuscany and Lombardy, together, generated over 60% of the exports.
