Supply chain at the fair. The edition number 106 of Lineapelle, the world’s leading trade show for tanneries, accessories and components, fabrics and synthetics, will kick off on Tuesday, September 23 at Fiera Milano Rho, (concluding on Thursday, September 25). At the same time, the 51st edition of Simac Tanning Tech, the benchmark event for machinery and technology for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries, will take place.
The supply chain at the fair
Lineapelle
New spaces for Lineapelle. For logistical reasons related to the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics (scheduled for February 2026), the show will occupy halls 1-3, 2-4 and 5-7 of the FieraMilano Rho exhibition center. It will feature 1,150 companies from 37 nations exhibiting collections destined for the Fall-Winter 2026-2027 season. Overall, the turnover represented by the exhibiting companies is estimated to be around $11 billion. As stated in a note, a manufacturing universe of more than 50,000 companies gravitates around Lineapelle, employing more than 1 million people, billing about $170 billion and accounting for more than 40% of global industry’s supply chain turnover.
Simac Tanning Tech
Made in Italy technological excellence to support the global fashion system: this is how Simac Tanning Tech presents itself. The show, by Assomac, which is held in close synergy with Lineapelle, has the following goal: “To enhance the entire fashion value chain, combining the technology of machinery with the quality of materials”. Simac Tanning Tech will see the presence of 312 exhibitors, a quarter from abroad. It will welcome about 200 foreign delegates, including 97 in official delegation, thanks to the support of MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) and Agenzia ICE.
The economic situation
As Lineapelle writes, “the market landscape of the supply chains that meet at the fair continues to be complicated, with widespread difficulties recorded in the first half of the year at both the sectoral and geographical levels. It’s an ongoing structural crisis that is transforming the physiognomy of global manufacturing and its paradigms”. Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech, in this sense, “become an essential opportunity for wide-ranging comparison, analysis and networking”.
