Vietnam: Shoes & Leather sends positive feedback

Il primo giorno di Shoes and Leather Vietnam

“Day one proved rather lively, day two was bustling as well”. Good vibrations, then, for Italian exhibitors, who took part in the 21st edition of Shoes & Leather, Vietnam’s fair dedicated to leather and footwear industry (scheduled in Ho Chi Minh City on July 10-12).

Interest

Marco Meucci, Dermacolor, a chemical tanning company headquartered in Castelfranco di Sotto, pointed out: “On the first day of the exhibition, Dante Brandi, Vietnam’s Italian consul, visited our stand. Thanks to our agents, we also met up with several Vietnamese clients; furthermore, we welcomed other buyers coming from the Asian area: all of them proved to be interested in our products. Made in Italy manufacturing is a safety benchmark to them, considering that products are certified”. At Shoes & Leather, Dermacolor presented their latest solutions about metal-free tanning and re-tanning methods, together with innovative projects to stop production and split processing according to customers’ demand.

Multiplicity

“The overall feeling I had is about a remarkable multiplicity – added Meucci –. On the one hand, we could see some big companies, whose manufacturing is very close to production we carry out in Italy. On the other hand, there are local smaller companies, whose quality standards are lower, despite their striving hard to keep up through technology innovation. After all, they know that technological upgrade is the only way to remain in the market”. Following 48 hectic hours, today exhibitors are expecting a more relaxing day, as most visitors will have already left.
