A boom of visitors for the Shanghai Furniture Fair: Chinese like Italian style

The Shanghai edition of the Salone del Mobile (19-21 November) closed with good feedbacks, especially for the premium segment, from the Chinese public. The organisers say they are more than satisfied. On the evening of Preview dedicated to the Vip community and the press the attendance was 2000 people. During the 3-day event visitors exceeded 20,000 units and arrived from the most affluent regions of China as well as from those up and coming areas as Sichuan, Hubei and Henan. Among the ambassadors of Made in Italy, there were 56 companies. Among those, Visionnaires and Calligaris, as well fashion brands like Gianfranco, the home division of Gianfranco Ferre’ and Trussardi Home. At the event, MISE undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto announced that of the 200 million Euros that the Government will invest in international projects, 20 will go to promote Italian brands in China. Roberto Snaidero, President of the Milan Furniture Fair, in a statement, said that “the positive results that we have received from companies, the public and stakeholders, confirmed that its strategy to bring the best of Italian production was the right choice to position ourselves in the market with a clear and strong identity. “Exports of Italian furniture from 2007 to 2015 grew by 384%, while for 2020 is expected to increase 50%.
