What to expect from Micam and Mipel in February 2022

First of all, in view of February 2022 a new hashtag is launched: #restarttogether becomes #bettertogether. Better Together: because Micam, Mipel and Lineapelle renew their synergy. From 20 to 22 February, 2022, the 93rd edition of Micam is “Glamorous Magic”: in terms of results, the organisers hope to approach pre-pandemic levels. Mipel, on the other hand, announces an increase in the exhibition space: it will occupy not only pavilion 1 at Fiera Milano-Rho, but also pavilion 3. And it confirms Mipel Lab, at its second edition inside Lineapelle.

For February 2022

“Micam is an irreplaceable moment for our sector, an opportunity to realise business in a great international hub”, comments Siro Badon, president of Assocalzaturifici and Micam. “We are already at work to present operators with an even richer edition in terms of exhibition and training opportunities. This will enable us to return to the standards of the pre-covid exhibitions as soon as possible”. Micam also released the figures for its digital edition. Over 100 exhibiting brands, more than 250 collections (15,000 products) and 4,000 visitors “holding on compared to the last edition”. Satisfied with the results, Badon, who underlines the importance of the new tools: “Micam Milano Digital Show supports the footwear sector towards the digital transition and has been an important help in times of pandemic emergency”.

And Mipel?

121st edition of Mipel will no longer occupy only Hall 1 of Fieramilano Rho, but also Hall 3 of the exhibition centre. The aim of the organisers is “to repeat the success of last September’s edition, which marked a recovery in the presence of the fair, with a return of international buyers also from Russia and the USA”. Second edition of Mipel Lab will be held in the spaces of Lineapelle (February 22-24). This is the platform dedicated to leather sourcing where brands can meet Italian producers. For Franco Gabbrielli, president of Assopellettieri, the collaboration with Micam and Lineapelle “means creating a system within the leather goods supply chain but also with other fashion operators”.
