Furla boom: +28% and opening in Paris. Baldinini extends across the US and starts off with New Jersey

After inaugurating a store in Nice, the Furla group is set to open a new boutique in Paris, on Rue St. Honoré 414, while the historic store at number 281 on the same street will be transformed into a pop-up store dedicated to men, the first in Europe. Alberto Camerlengo, general director of the brand (which in the first half of 2016 saw turnover grow by 28% to €194 million), declared the brand would be “continuing the strategy of redefining the single-brand stores.” In the new store, in addition to bags, all kinds of accessories will be on sale: footwear, textiles, eyewear, watches and small leather goods. Next Tuesday, Baldinini will open the first flagship store in the United States, in The Mall at Short Hills, New Jersey, near Newark Liberty International Airport and less than 40 km from Manhattan. The opening is part of the two-year retail development plan which, in addition to New Jersey, will also include Florida and New York, in order to develop sales in the US market, which currently generate 5% of Baldinini turnover (around €100 million, of which 65% is made up of exports).
