Hermès boosts sales in the third quarter thanks to its leather goods: the brand makes up +9%, bags +16%

Hermès’ sales have increased in Asia of +8% (with Japan at +9%), in Europe by +7% and in America of +8%. The result is that Hermès’ turnover grew by 9% in the third quarter 2016 at current exchange rates, reaching 3.6 billion euros of sales in the first 9 months of the year. Star of the French brand performance is leather: to drive revenues are the sales of the Leather Good segment (+16%), where the models Birkin, Kelly, Constance, Halzan and Lilly recorded good results. The development, inform the financial memo sent out by the brand, it was also possible thanks to the production and delivery of the three new French factories. Hermès is already working for the opening of a fourth production plant in France. The category ‘Fragrances’ also marks a good quarterly result (+6%), Ready-to-wear (-1%) and Textiles (-6%) didn’t perform so well. For 2016 Hermès has confirmed its target of sales growth of +6%.
