Sludge and fertilizers: a video interview with Cuoiodepur

Francesco Spennati is the Research & Development supervisor at Consorzio Conciatori Ponte a Egola and Cuoiodepur, a centralised plant, located in San Romano (Pisa), for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater. They also handle and recycle sludge for production of fertilizers. Spennati emphasizes that Lineapelle Exhibition proved to be “a great opportunity to put forth the work behind the manufacturing of leather items”. “As regards our company, we are specifically talking about the treatment of wastewater coming from vegetable tanning – he adds –. After all, leather itself is a scrap that enjoys a positive enhancement. Therefore, our industry pays intrinsic attention to recycling and sustainability”.
