Something good for the Italian tanning in the first trimester of 2017

Some good news for Italian tanning. Data for the first quarter 2017, available online at lineapelle-fair.com, according to Lineapelle’s Economic Service, are “more satisfactory than expected”. At the same time, there is “cautious optimism” for the second quarter results. While the “automotive” sector confirms a lively area and leather goods give signs of recovery, the luxury segment continues to “hiccup”. The best performance is the average-sized bovine hides, which is up by + 5% on an annual basis. Small beef skins are down 5% over the same period of 2016. Sheepskin A slight downturn was also registered for sheepskin (-1%), penalised by the goat’s slowdown (-7%).
