Gruppo Finco, assisted by Sace Simest, invests in the United Kingdom: new machinery for HH tannery

Gruppo Finco, based in Bassano del Grappa (near Vicenza) invests in the United Kingdom. The enterprise, tied to Sace Simest, the Italian export and innovation cluster connected to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, tanning holding based in Veneto managed by Bernardo Finco, has obtained financing to renew the technology inside HH tannery. The business is based in Yorkshire (county), where a tanning tradition for local bovines and ovine leather exists. The company, through the investment wanted by Finco, was given new fleshing machines, sammying machines and 4 new special drums, all made in Italy, of course. The new machines will allow the tannery to increase its production capacity and hire new personnel. “This funding is very advantageous, but not everybody can access it due to the rigid regulations surrounding the operation, such as the periodic verifications done to ensure the fulfilment of the agreement”, explains Mr. Finco, who was able to obtain the funds thanks to the economic support provided by Sace Simest, an investor already active at an international level, – first requirement of the cluster -, as well as being the ideal partner given its long tradition in the sector. The loan will last 6 years, and verifications of the stipulated terms will be done every two years. The collaboration between Adelaide and Sace Simest started in 2006 and the operation in the United Kingdom represent a further step forward for the group, which is able to export 90% of its product as of today. Finco has provided leather seating solutions to some of the most famous places on earth, as for example one for the Pope. “Included in our repertoire of works, – concludes Mr. Finco, sixth generation for the business -, we have upholstery done for the Kremlin, in Moscow and others for Beijing’s government’s Central Building.
