Aston Martin opens a plant in Wales: it will manufacture the DBX SUV model

Aston Martin inaugura una fabbrica in Galles: produrrà SUV DBX

A new opening for the Britain’s automotive segment. Aston Martin is opening a plant in Wales. The new production site, located in St. Athan, is just a few kilometers from Cardiff. The creation of the plant costed 200 million pounds (about 237 million euro). The plant will have the specific purpose of manufacturing the DBX SUV, the first of its kind by Aston Martin.

The opening in Wales

The luxurious DBX has the purpose of relaunching the British brand. As reported by lautomobile.aci.it, Aston Martin’s revenue fell by 80 million pounds in the first months of 2019. But there are grounds for a speedy recovery. The site, explained Aston Martin’s top managers at the inauguration, will employ about 600 people from the start, if the development plan will continue as expected, the car maker will hire 150 more individuals to work in the new plant.

Welsh presence

Aston Martin launched its hiring campaign in Cardiff for the first time in 2016, to hire employees for the St. Athan production site. 3,000 people showed up, and 40 employees have been hired in the first 6 months. This second plant should start producing during the second half of 2020. The DBX model is a super-luxury SUV with a sporty spirit. The interiors are like a living room: fully covered with leather of the highest quality.

Presenza gallese
