Automotive and leather: Bentley celebrates its 100th anniversary with the extreme luxury of the Continental GT Number 9 Edition

One hundred exemplars, each one assembled by hand by the artisans of the historic Mulliner car body. A rich series of details able to make any collector of luxury cars pale. It’s the new Bentley Continental GT Number 9 Edition, a custom-built model by the British company created to celebrate its 100th anniversary, which will be presented exclusively at the Geneva International Motor Show 2019, which will open its doors on Thursday. The first exclusive element is given by the limited number of specimens that will be made, precisely 100. Then, that distinctive number, the 9, which turns into a unique emblem that defines the design of the front grille and pays tribute to the 4½ Litre number 9, the historic race car of the brand that in 1930 has been one step away from the victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But the astonishment reach its peak as soon as you admire its interior. Seats and details of the interior are made of leather, worked to give a vintage style, on which the “B” logo is engraved and with the possibility of choosing two colours: Cumbrian Green or Beluga Black. To make this version of the Continental GT unique, Bentley has inserted a small piece of wood in the infotainment rotary panel from the original 4½ Litre Birkin Blower seat. Immediately next to it stands a British Jaeger watch inspired by the style of the roaring Twenties and, moreover, under that 18-carat gold plated levers with a foil to indicate the limited edition.
