Essenz, Gallery Shoes, ILM and the others: those who give up, those who go online

Essenz, Gallery Shoes, ILM and the others: those who give up, those who go online

German fairs: who gives up and who go online. Essenz, scheduled for March 28-30 in Munich, has been canceled. Its sister fair, Moda Made in Italy, which is always held in the Bavarian capital, had not even been planned. ILM goes digital. Gallery Shoes & Fashion remains confirmed: it will be held in attendance from on April 18-20. In Spain, Ifema brings together all the fashion salons in a single digital appointment.

Essenz to be skipped

Essenz’s organisers have canceled the edition scheduled for March 28-30. The decision was made because Bavaria is still banned from holding fairs and events. The last edition of the show took place last September. As reported on shoez.biz, many exhibitors are looking to set up showrooms around the same time in the nearby MOC-Munich Order Centeral. They hope to be able to meet buyers with individual appointments. MOC was the venue where Made in Italy fashion, organised by Assocalzaturifici, was held. The last edition dates back to 2019, then the pandemic forced organisers to cancel, starting from March 2020 and, until a date to be decided, all the subsequent appointments.

Who goes online

ILM leather goods fair has launched the ILM Virtual Order Show initiative. Until Friday March 5 included, the fair will be open to a limited extent (Pre Opening) and only appointments can be made with exhibitors. On March 6-8, the exhibition stands will be open. Each visitor will be able to walk in the space reconstructed in 3D models and view the stands with products, brochures and videos. Of course, it is also possible to contact the exhibitors directly. However, from on March 9-16, the fair will remain visible (Post Opening).

From Spain

Ifema has decided to merge all the salons it organises into an extraordinary virtual edition on the  platform LIVEConnect. Momad (footwear and clothing) and Integift, Bisutex and MadridJoya costume jewellery, accessories and jewellery fairs will be online from April 15th. “This way, we keep the sector activity alive until the return in attendance scheduled for September 2021” explain the organisers.
