Lineapelle New York tackles US business complexity while striving between market instability and demand for style

Ball is in Milan’s court now, as Lineapelle 95th edition is coming up, on September 25-27, following its sneak preview in New York, which took place at Metropolitan Pavilion on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th. A number of selected exhibitors, 125 in total, took part in the fair event. “Many visitors showed up, as usual – remark some representatives of an Italian tannery -: they reinforced their trust in our product development model and, in addition to that, have already arranged some appointments in Milan”. Such attitude proves indeed that footwear (in the USA as well as in other markets), most of all, relies a great deal on next Lineapelle edition, dedicated to winter 2019/2020 trends, to set collections and business strategies while dealing with the US context, currently affected by strong instability, as confirmed at Lineapelle New York. Commercial wars underway rather concern American footwear brands, which are about to join next FFANY New York edition, which has been postponed to a week after (on August 6-8): meanwhile, they fear that protectionism measures adopted by the White House will undermine and jeopardize consumptions. Such uncertainty neatly came up at Lineapelle New York as much as it was evident a great curiosity around product quality and properties. In fact, we had a very good feedback about several seminars on the agenda on July, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th: from various style presentations, offered by Lineapelle Fashion Committee, to the “Crafting Innovation” workshops (set by Orietta Pellizzari and Raphael Lombardo, in collaboration with T-Project showroom); from “Know your Leather” technical seminar, by Lineapelle Training, to the “The Tuscan Way. Vegetable leather: what is it about and what is its story?” event, presented by the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium. Next Lineapelle New York edition will take place on 30-31 January 2019.
