In Bangladesh raises the hypothesis of another leather district

In Savar, the vast majority of tanneries do not yet have gas connections. Considering that the move from Hazaribagh (one of the most polluted areas in the world) has been going on for 15 years, it’s astonishing the news that Bangladesh is planning to set up a new leather cluster. The idea comes from BEZA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority.  It would like to build it in the Mirsarai Economic Zone, in the Chittagong outskirt. “We’re going to start the feasibility study” by basing the need for a new skin district on numbers telling BEZA. About 200 warehouses of raw material around Chittagong would work (directly or indirectly) to nearly 25,000 people, meeting 35% of the national demand for rough skins.
