Micam to confirm September fair as 75% are planning to participate

Micam: three companies out of four “are either sure or inclined to take part” in the exhibition, scheduled at Fieramilano Rho on September 20-23. Assocalzaturifici publicly announced it, while confirming September dates and stating that the fair event will regularly take place, as per schedule.

Micam to confirm September exhibition

Assocalzaturifici have confirmed that Micam planned organization is going on regularly. “This fair event is paramount to foster and support the industry”, pointed out President Siro Badon. “Even though in the last few months players have been developing a few alternative options for business connections, encounters at the fair are still the most important development opportunity in the market”. On top of that, they prove to be “the most advantageous way to build up order negotiations. We must absolutely back up and reassure our businesses, deeply hit and in difficulties because of economic repercussions caused by current emergency. Our industry needs to look ahead: otherwise, we are in danger of entering a dead-end street. That is why Micam confirmation turns out to be the best response to market instability”. Tommaso Cancellara, chief manager of Assocalzaturifici, also announced the forthcoming launch of a new digital channel.

Three companies out of four

Assocalzaturifici have recently made public the results of a survey formerly carried out. They interviewed Italian and foreign exhibitors taking part in Micam: “around 75% of interviewees are either sure or inclined to participate in the exhibition, scheduled in September”. Most of all, they call for more help in support of their participation in the fair, both from a logistic and a financial point of view. Moreover, they highly stress the fact that “relevant action has to be taken in order to guarantee health safety standards”.

A market survey

Looking at the market survey, carried out by Assocalzaturifici, over 80% of interviewees have remarked they have been directly hindered by the emergency currently underway, which brought about a downturn in the portfolio of orders for more than 90% of businesses. Consequently, production has come to a standstill for over 60% of companies, which could not therefore present their new collections to prospective clients and buyers. What about recovery? They expect it to go on from September onwards, however by the end of the year.
