Speakers will include entrepreneurs, academics and authorities, because, after investigations by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed cases of gangmastering in the supply chains of some brands, the entire system is responding to the call for a new sense of responsibility. The program
Opening the proceedings of the “Fashion and Legality” conference is the Prefect of Milan, Claudio Sgaraglia, with a speech on the Memorandum of Understanding for the legality of procurement in the fashion supply chain. The main stakeholders will include: Giovanna Ceolini (Confindustria Accessori Moda), Claudia Sequi (Assopellettieri) and Roberto Tadini (Associazione Italiana Pellicceria) with Giorgio Possagno (general manager Assocalzaturifici). Andrea Sianesi, professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Politecnico di Milano, will illustrate “The Digital Supply Chain Platform, a centralized repository of data regarding the fashion manufacturing sector.”

Gian Piero Geminiani, lawyer and legal advisor to UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Lineapelle, will speak on “Current Context and Future Developments of Legality in the Leather Sector.” While Patrizia Pierro, legal office of UNIC, will give a talk on Safety and Health in Tanneries. Focus of the talk by Sabrina Frontini, director of ICEC, is the importance of third-party certifications and the role of the accredited Certification Institute: focus on the qualification of the leather supply chain”.
