Milan Believes in Women in February: “Just apply the rules”

Milan Fashion Men Week has closed. And the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) believes in the possibility of holding the Women’s Week in February. As president Carlo Capasa explains, although the fourth wave complicates plans, it is precisely the event of the past days that gives confidence: “If the rules are strictly applied, it is possible to organise a live edition to the best of possibilities”.

How did it go?

“All things considered, well”. Capasa replies. “If we think of the conditions in which we worked, with London and New York preferring to cancel everything,” he told la Repubblica, “it’s already exceptional to have been there. There was a good turnout of buyers and media even if, for obvious reasons, the number of participants was much lower than usual”. The last two years have not been in vain, on the contrary. “I believe that the emergency encourages us to give more. In these two years, we have learned to be much more flexible and reactive. And also much more united”.

Applying the rules for the woman in February

On this basis, is it possible to hold the Women’s edition on February 22-28? “It’s still too early to say,” admits CNMI president, “but I think that these days of fashion shows have shown that if the rules are strictly applied (restricted audience, super greenpass obligation and ffp2 masks, ed.) it is possible to organise a live edition to the best of your ability”.

“Beautiful things on the catwalk

“We saw some very nice things on the catwalk,” Capasa commented smugly. Starting with the so-bold collection designed by Miuccia and Raf Simons for Prada (some looks in the photo), whose geometric shoulders and proportions marked the oversize trend. Zegna, who played with tonsur-ton combinations, and Fendi, who revisited the image of the dandy, with trouser-skirts. Leather, ça va sans dire, was in abundance, in both clothing and accessories. They stole the eye in Tod’s leather and Cucinelli‘s sheepskin jackets.
