Also AltaRoma has its “leather celebration”. Faux leather? “Not so sustainable” says Morfosis

There was leather on the catwalk also in the last edition of AltaRoma that closed yesterday at the PratiBus District with over 100 Italian and foreign designers as protagonists. Morfosis and Federica Tosi were among the most awaited.

Morfosis, founded in 2004 by Alessandra Cappiello, still at the helm of the brand, has brought on the catwalk blouses and pencil skirt, pleated leather or python leather, as for one of the most appreciated outfits, a jacket version with the skirt. “I believe that eco-leather, which is now so fashionable, coming from oil – said Alessandra Cappiello – has little to do with being sustainable. For Morfosis only real leather“.

A lot of leather also for Federica Tosi, the homonymous designer’s brand with an innovative and extremely contemporary vision. The research of materials is one of its peculiarities. Her collection, with a contemporary rock look, enhances the materiality of the leather, a protagonist too for the brand Angelia Ami (Angelia Corno). Outerwear in shades of orange are made of nappa and technical fabrics, then bordeaux suede, glossy coated and a bit of lilac. The designer-architect Sabrina Persechino presented Dynamic, where the “dynamism” of her fashion is created following a perspective deformation. The rigorous models of the dresses, cuts, folds and leathers create movements and sinuosity that give life to fluidity and dynamism.
