From luxury cars to footwear: the former CEO of Porsche invests in the leather goods of Shoepassion

The faith of former CEO of Porsche, Wendelin Wiedeking in the footwear sector is so strong that he has invested “several million euro” in the young company from Berlin, Shoepassion. Founded in 2008 by Tim Keding and Henry Bökemeier, Shoepassion is a brand specialised in traditional leather accessories: footwear, gloves, belts and luggage. The Porsche manager had already been involved in the start-up and his connection with the brand was reinforced last December when Shoepassion took over footwear manufacturer Heinrich Dinkelacker, of which the former CEO of Porsche had been a director since 2004. “The composition of the team and the infrastructure combined with the outstanding performance of the management board boasting a strong vision for the future of the business, have convinced me to further invest in Shoepassion” explained Wiedeking.
