Innovation, technology, sustainability: at UITIC’s Call for Papers they submitted 95 abstracts

“We consider our Call for Papers achievement to be a success”. At the end of the first stage, while setting up UITIC 20th conference, the international footwear specialists meeting on the agenda in Porto on May 16-18, they have submitted 95 abstracts, carried out by several researchers coming from 19 countries, including footwear industry world top players (China, India, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Spain). “The increased number of countries, from which works come (just for the records, there were 13 of them in 2016, in the Call for Papers event held in Chennai), is evidence of the growing interest of the industry in the exhibition”, points out in his release Françoise Nicolas, general secretary and supervisor of UITIC’s scientific board. By the end of February, the same board will assess and select 25 to 30 papers, which will be subsequently presented during the meeting in Porto. Such are the main topics: product and process innovation, manufacturing technological development, sustainability and new management modus operandi.
