Leather that is not leather: it’s the time of “leathery”

“Pulse of Fashion 2017” (published by Global Fashion Agenda and The Boston Consulting Group) coined the word “leathery”. Unfortunately, the new name unveiled at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit did not impress us. The authors of the study argue – with a controversial method already detailed in the number “La Conceria n. 19 “- that natural materials, primarily leather, have a difficult environmental impact for the fashion industry. For this reason, they recommend the use of alternative fabrics, possibly with a “leathery” feel.
