Zalando’s season late kick-off not to spoil strategies. Quarterly revenues go up by 22% to confirm annual goals

In 2018 first quarter, Zalando’s sales increased by 22%. Such brilliant performance will enable the company to confirm their annual goals, that is, to expand the business by 20 to 25%. In the period, the turnover of the German e-commerce portal reached around 1,2 billion euros. On the one hand, earnings went up by 16,2% in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; on the other hand, in the rest of Europe the business expansion is about +24,9% on average. “The late kick-off of spring-summer season put pressure on the company – points out in his release co-CEO Rubin Ritter -. Yet we keep focusing attention on our expansion targets”. In the quarter, Zalando’s active clients increased by 16%: in other words, over 3 million new buyers have made the overall number of customers grow up to 23,9 million in total. The portal, dedicated to footwear, has inaugurated, just in Germany for the time being, a new product line: Beauty.
