10 bags, 10 good investments: PurseBop’s ranking

10 borse, 10 investimenti azzeccati: la classifica di PurseBop

If you’ve bought one of these bags this year, you’ve made a good investment. Specialist magazine PurseBop has selected 10 models that can be considered as such because they meet three fundamental requirements. Firstly, brand value. Second: utility. Third: style. The list is dominated by handbags made by French brands (Hermès comes out on top with three). One is Italian: Prada.

PurseBop ranking: the podium

In first place, is the Holy Grail of leather goods, the most coveted luxury bag. The Hermés Birkin 30, which became fashionable in 2021, not least because of its size, which makes it very versatile. In second place is its little sister, the Hermés Kelly 28. A model that never goes out of fashion and is always in style. Bronze medal for Chanel’s Medium Classic Flap. Chic, functional, perfectly sized and always attractive in new colours. The website points out that its price has increased by 52% in two years.

From fourth to tenth place

Fourth is still Hermès, with the Mini Kelly 20. It is simply the best of the group of small bags that continue to enjoy a moment of popularity these days. Next comes Louis Vuitton’s Onthego Tote and Multi Pochette, which “appeals because it consists of three bags that can also be used individually”. Next comes Dior Book Tote, the most successful bag of the Chiuri era: launched in 2018, the original version sold out immediately. Eighth is Chanel 19, defined as “the bag that redesigned casual elegance in 2019”. Ninth place for the Lady Dior, size medium. Finally, PurseBop’s ranking is closed by a bag from an Italian brand: Prada Crystal, reissued in 2000.
