And four: Idee Partners (Gruppo Pattern) acquires RGB

“You either grow or the market pushes you out”. Claudio Delunas, CEO of Idee Partners gets to the point. His company, which became a part of Gruppo Pattern in October 2021, continues to invest, and announced its 4th acquisition: 70% of RGB, company located in Reggello (Florence) and specialized in the production of leather accessories. “We have defined a roadmap and are following it with an anticipated timeline – explained the manager -. RGB’s acquisition is part of our own activity, but at a step that we are still developing: manufacturing. Until now we were known for product development. This acquisition puts us in a prime position for quality as well. When you service luxury groups, one must provide adequate capacities”.

Idee Partners acquires RGB

The operation consists in the purchase of 70% of RGB’s capital from its 3 current owners, among which is Paolo Benedetti, who will take over as CEO. The value of the investment is of 2.275 million euro. RGB has about 100 employees and “a modern production plant of over 2,500 square meters”. The leather goods’ make in Ruggello aims at closing 2022 with a revenue of between 9 and 10 million euro. “RGB has an extraordinary manufacturing plant – says Delunas -. They are high-end. We needed to close the operation quickly because we weren’t the only suitors”.

Production capacity doubled

Thanks to the operation, Idee Partners doubles its production capacity, bringing its number of employees to 200 and its production volume to about 300,000 handbags per year. The company closed 2021 with a production value of 11.5 million euro. The investment on RGB follows the one made in 2021 to acquire 60% of Petri & Lombardi, historic Tuscan leather goods’ maker that closed 2021 with 2 million in goods manufactured.

Growth strategy

“It’s Idee Partner’s fourth acquisition – explained Delunas -. Brands like this approach because the various operations we are bringing forward allow us to have more tools to service them. We are proud to be able to do so for the best brands in the world”. Our Scandicci location is also expanding, but construction is taking longer due to a lack of raw materials. “We will open the first part of it between July and September”, concludes Delunas.
