The brand is Belgian, the (new) factory in France. Delvaux, historic leather goods brand founded in Brussels in 1829, announced the start of a new production site in Avoudrey, in the French region of Burgundy-Franche Compte. The reason? Very simple: “We need to double our production capacity in order to satisfy the demand”. Delvaux already has two factories: one in Brussels and one in France, in Bourg-Argental. For the new factory the opening is planned for next October, while it has already started the training project for around 100 employees. Delvaux, which in 2017 had a turnover of over 100 million euros, is owned by FHB, whose majority lies in the hands of Fung, a Hong Kong-based family associated with the sovereign fund Singapore Temasek.
