LVMH unveils the name of its online portal. Zalando surprises with + 23.1% in the first quarter

The new mega-platform for the LVMH group luxury e-commerce will be called 24 Sèvres. The reference is at Rue de 24 Sèvres, the Parisian address of Le Bon Marché, the department store founded in 1852 and now owned by the French holding. The project, which could also be the masterpiece of Amazon Fashion’s success, goes a step further. There will be 150 trademarks (also some of them which are not owned by LVMH), while the distribution will be in 75 countries. For the inauguration, there will be capsule collections of brands of the likes of Marni, Chloé and Ferragamo. For a portal ready to be launched in the market, there is another well-established company that communicates its business. The German e-tailer Zalando in the first quarter of 2017 recorded a strong growth of + 23.1%, with a turnover of 980.2 million euros. A year ago, in the same period, they were 796.1 million with an EBIT in line with 2016 (20.3 million euros) and a margin of 2.1%. For  2017 Zalando confirms its growth prospect by 20-25%.
